Boat Reviews

I've sailed a Wayfarer too many times to count, and while they're not my favourite boat, they are excellent for teaching and learning in, and very stable for sailing on larger lakes.
Wayfarers are pretty forgiving, and can be comfortably sailed with 2 people in lighter breezes although in stronger winds they do require more weight - we've had anywhere from 4-6 people in one on Bala on a windy day. Even in Force 5 winds with decent sized swell, they never feel in danger of going over, and if it's too gusty, drop the jib and it still sails well under main only. They can be difficult to move in light winds due to their weight, but they are a nice all round cruising and training dinghy, and it's a shame not many clubs allow them to be raced due to their size.
